The Torture Chamber on T.M.R

Perhaps this post should've been then a little earlier but hey, better late than never! So...

I have a radio show that I host, meaning I talk and stuff and I play Death Metal songs. This show is called The Torture Chamber and it happens every Saturday from Midnight to 2 AM (GMT)* on www.tyrant-metal.com which is a radio station I founded in 2009, was up and streaming up till 2013 and then I had to leave it on standby but with the help of a friend I managed to bring it back up in March, 2014.

Therefore I am announcing here on this blog of mine that if you're into Death Metal, you should totally pass by this show of mine and have a good time with me. The website also has a live instant chat that can be used to interact with me and each other so come on by!

To specify also, whenever Tyrant Metal gets submitted new Death Metal music that I think is worth playing in TTC, it will be played and it will be underground talented bands that are very much worth the listen! I will also play classic tunes from the good old classic Death Metal bands we all know we love.

There's several ways of listening to the show/station. One is joining the website www.tyrant-metal.com. Another is by copying this link (http://radio.tyrant-metal.com:8454) and paste it into 'Open URL' in the player of your choice, either WMP, iTunes, Winamp, Realplayer, Quicktime or whatever accepts audio streams URL.

Also, Tyrant Metal Radio streams 24/7 every genre and sub-genre of Metal you can think of... It's an ecletic station that looks to promote the underground bands and most importantly provide a great time for its listeners. Therefore I encourage you to pass on by every now and then, give it a listen. There's a lot of music that has been submitted by labels, promoters, bands, solo artists that is completelly worth a while and who knows, you could find your favourite band in the big playlists online. Again, apologies for the redundancy but there's literally amazing unknown bands in the playlists that we want to be heard through our streams and hopefully get followers and fans and if it's sent by us, that will be a great feeling of achievement!

So, to end this post, join me in my show and get yourself an amazing fix of Death Metal brought to you directly through the interwebs. The station streams at 320 kbp/s (best audio quality) and let me tell you, you don't easily find a Metal station with unlimited max. listeners and 320 kbp/s.

Just a bit more promotion : The station is recruiting members, DJ's, promoters, colaborators, interviewers, photographers to keep providing high-quality content to the radio and the website itself. Therefore if you're interested, send an e-mail to recruit@tyrant-metal.com and you'll get an answer ASAP.

If you have a band or a solo project or just want to contact me for whatever reason, my e-mail is dmgrinder@tyrant-metal.com

PROMOTIONS

Alright, so if you ever done promotions before either by radio or blogs or newspapers or magazines or whatever you know there's work behind it, no matter what platform it is. Here's another rant...

So i've started to talk to this dude several months before a festival. My proposal was, as an online radio streamer I wanted to do an online show, a spot constantly playing to promote the festival, an interview before the festival to the staff, interviewing the bands and another of my proposals was to do a report on video of the whole festival. We talked and all I asked for was free entrance, which honestly is the minimum you can ask to do that kind of promotion. What I mean by this is... You actually going there, paying for transportation, paying for food, drinks and everything else so the minimum is clearly a free entrance to the festival and promotion back.

Now, as soon as I asked for free entrance there was already some backing away from the staff... I thought to myself... "I'm not promoting you entirely for free" so again, free entrance would be a must! But what really bothered me was the festival releasing officially the flyer and not once asking us for our Tyrant Metal logo. So you're going to put other sh*t that probably wouldn't deserve being in there but our promotion is what, useless?! You should know there are tourists who look for places to go and we in Tyrant Metal are quite heard outside of Portugal. As a matter fact, 99.9% of our listeners are all from other countries. Would this mean a lot of people from other countries would go to their festival? I don't know! But that's a risk you have to be willing to take. Just like we took a risk of starting a Metal radio station which requires a lot of work to get out there. With this said, it entirely bothered me that these dudes didn't ask us for our logo to promote us on the flyer and even backed away from giving us free entrance. Let me tell you something, promotion takes work. Recording spots and making them good for public takes work. Making flyers takes work. Interviewing takes work. Recording takes work. Editing takes even more work! Therefore, rethink your ways. And if all the backing away was because of thoughts that people are not aware of us, research! That's all it takes. Even though a lot of people judge this online radio thing the wrong way, there is a lot of work behind it. The difference is, while FM or AM stations (let's say, frequency stations) have work to do in touching knobs and physical material, we have work with digital stuff and allow me to say that is not easier. It's pretty much the same. But judgment is constantly there... We'll keep on working and here's some very honest words from me, DMGrinder for you folks who organize festivals and such. If you're willing to provide us with promotion back in our flyer/site and such and free entrance in your festival so we can actually work motivated, we'll do our very best to promote your event and give it a good image. But if you take us as some little nerds for being on the internet playing tunes and things (which 70% are provided by bands) we'll look at you like worthless time to waste. And no one wants to waste time, there's only 1 life... We need to enjoy it. This is not a job, it's a hobbie. As i'm sure several of the festivals out there are as well so have some fuck**g respect.

RIDICULOUS AMMOUNTS THROWN TO S**T

Alright, so i'm a Twitch viewer, several times. At first I didn't really like it, but here's the deal about it... Once you watch certain streamers you start to like the person who streams rather than what they are playing so it's sort of like when you watch TV and you really like this person presenting the show, like Conan or someone else... but, you're watching videogames being played.

Now, I'm gonna be throwing a rant here but this is not towards the streamers but it's towards the several idiots that watch them. Ok, so it's the internet and we all know that on the internet you'll always find idiots trying to be funny at all means cause they want some attention, probably... Or they're just purely stupid and have nothing else to do than try to piss off others (yes, because on the internet people hide behind a made up name and even though some have the knowledge to find out IPs and addresses, let's be honest... there's better things to do than try to find where a 'troll' lives). But here's the deal about these streams and the people who watch them... There's ridiculous ammounts of cash involved in this! Am I jealous about it?! Who wouldn't be?! I bet every gamer dreams of being able to play games for a living! So on Twitch you start, if you're willing to stream as a simply regular gamer, you'll have a follow button on your profile. This allows people who like you to follow you and keep up with whenever you stream. This is cool, because no one has to pay for that. Now, if you have the minimum requirements, you can become a Twitch Partner. As one you will get a subscriber button, which allows people to pay $4,99 (which is split between you and Twitch) for a few perks, you get streamer related emotes (symbols for chat), you won't get ads and you get a symbol before your name in chat. Cool, huh? Well, not really... I think it's cool to support the streamer but those perks aren't really worth 5 bucks. Plus Twitch and the partner get Ads revenue from those that are not subscribers and get ads.

So, that covered here is what really bothers me... Because subscribing is alright, you're supporting the streamer monthly, providing him to be able to actually play games for a living. Already from that and Ads revenue, they're making more cash than most people that bust they're asses and slowly kill themselves in factories and sh*t. And I know, i've done it! But ok, that's fine. It's an implemented system and official. NOW, here's what really f*cking bothers me! There are some freaking idiots who donate thousands of dollars to these streamers and me question is why?!?! There's hospitals in need! Animal hospitals in need! There's people who can't afford medication and could use every penny possible. There's hungry people who wish they'd have 1% of what you have. It doesn't matter how you make that money you put into the streamers, what really matters is you're putting cash into these dudes or girls who don't need it at all! They already can afford internet and a streaming computer... What makes you think they need more cash?! And that's not the only problem... You're putting into the minds of the viewers who are watching the stream that you can start a stream and be rich and that'll pretty much affect several minds! Put your money to good use ffs, don't spend on those who don't need it! And on top of that people will become greedy and require more from streaming.

Back in my days gaming meant having fun. Nowadays it's all about who's better than who and who has the most. My first gaming platform was a console bought in a fair that was a cheap replica of Atari or something. Then GameBoy and then Playstations. Nowadays I'm only into PC and let me tell you why... The greedyness that have been shown by game developers and console developers made me back away from consoles and their networks and stupid ass schemes. I know better than that. I'm not wealthy, i'm not poor but I don't have cash for a console that does what the previous one did. And this is getting long as hell but here's the deal about consoles... PS3 was great, fuckin' amazing but PS4? Was simply re-designed and maybe made better on the inside but it pretty much does what PS3 did. At least from the games i've seen... So you're buying PS3+1, with a new interface, few features and games that are basically the same. They're becoming more rich and you're getting the same shit you already had. Gratz, m8! As i'm sometimes told in games.

So here's my rant. The usual thing. I know it's getting old ranting at games but I can't get over it and I love writing so there you go. Plus it's my blog so I write whatever I want. Have a wonderful Tuesday and rest of the week and till the next rant or thoughts of mine!

CHEAPER GAMES AND PROMO CODES

What's going on, dear readers of this humble rants and thoughts blog? So if you're a gamer you know that these days games are getting more and more expensive and not only that but bigger companies are completely greedy with their DLC marketing schemes. If you're not aware of what it is, think of Battlefield 4... The game was already announced that in its final state, therefore, finished it would cost around 59,99 € or 69,99, something like that... Although even before the game was released they were already announcing map packs and premium DLCs (Downloadable Content) that would pretty much cost the same as the game... So what this means is, you'll need the full game which is 59,99 (now it's probably cheaper of course as the release price usually lowers once they've gotten the ammount they spent to create the game) plus map packs and premiums and stuff it would go close to 200 €. Now, truth be told... It is a very entertaining game and great multiplayer, BUT no game is worth 200 €... It's simply outrageous.

But anyways, so that was just to sort of explain what DLCs and how greedy some companies are in the videogames industry. But after all this rambling let's get to the important subject I wanted to talk on this post. There's this page called Games 2 Arena that sells digital copies of pretty much any game that's sold and lately they added a feature which allows people to sell games for them through a reflink. What's the perks for the holder of the reflink? Everytime a game is bought through that reflink the person receives a percentage, like a commission... It's pretty much all like those pyramid schemes but in this case you don't have to invest anything besides time to it so it's fine.

So once you buy a game, through my reflink I will be getting a comission from that sale and you'll join my "circle" which means you can than also start making cash through the reflink, so... sounds pretty neat huh?! You get a cheaper game, I get a comission, you join my circle and can earn some cash too! So, what're you waiting for?! Are you a gamer? Or maybe you just want to buy a game for your son, or niece, or friend? Then do it from my link, pretty please! Here's the reflink and happy purchases!

OH! Also, there's promo codes! So here's the deal, contact me through my e-mail and get a 5 % off promo code! I know there can be better promo codes for like 20 % off, but the comunity/circle still needs to grow more. Here's my e-mail to contact me : dmgrinder@tyrant-metal.com

Early Access Rant and the Forest "Review"

The Forest came out... new survival open world sandbox game. Not gonna lie, looks promising... But... why the fuck do the developers have to release it so early?! It's getting an incredible ammount of hype around it and in a few months the hype will be gone and the updates might be good but yet, irrelevant because people have gotten tired of the game already. This is the fucking problem with early releases... People buy the fucking things, anxious to get a new thing, they play the game for a few as a fucking buggy, unfinished and flawed product and get tired of it. Hype goes down, the game may or may not continue under development as seen before developers made 2 million dollars and dropped the development of the game. This is always a 50/50% chance of happening. But some invested in the game, bought it and now there's new, better, finished products to play... What the fuck is this system?! I wouldn't mind investing in a game, but i'd invest in a game if later on i'd get some out of my investment... That's how investing works, you lose some, you win some. Not like this fucking useless stupid charade of public early access or early releases or alpha releases, whatever the hell they want to call it... It's simply ridiculous. Naive people will keep supporting this and it's just ridiculous. Now back to the game itself... It surely looks promising, you're a dude with your son who's in a plane that crashes into an island that's inhabited by indigenous tribes of cannibals and where there's mutants, for whatever reason... The plane crashes randomly into this massive island where all you have is the rests from the plane crash and your surroundings in the forest to survive. You create shelters, traps, hunt for food, explore for knowledge. I mean, it's an awesome concept for a survival as zombies are way overused nowadays. I despise almost every single release that has to do with zombies nowadays. I stick to George A. Romero's times, thank you very much. But just give it a few more time before releasing a crappy game, that could be amazing if polished before being released. This whole early access bullshit really bothers me... Anyways, final verdict... It's an awesome concept for a game and it looks really good but it's just too flawed for a release to the public and even if just for 15 €. Who tells us they won't drop the development for whatever reason?! Could happen... Just saying.
